Why there is no conversion of #é# or #è# see the text below ?

It may depend on whether or not Unicode is present. Normally these characters would be converted into 8-bit characters. However if the software detects Unicode (or if you tell it to expect Unicode) then these characters are probably not converted.

Unicode handling has been improved since the last release (2.4), so if you'd care to email me a sample file, together with any policy file you're using, I'd be happy to investigate this problem further for you.
